Obituary for Edna R. Hackman Edna R. Hackman, 98, of North Olmsted, passed away June 6, 2018. Born June 9, 1919, Edna lived a full and happily married life with her husband of 79 years, Bill, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons, John (Cathy), Bill (Carol), five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Edna is best remembered as being the fabric that held her family together and as a mother with strength of character, determination on raising her family the right way and as being a meticulous housekeeper. In her youth, Edna was a tomboy and proud of it! Her stories to her sons and grandchildren are legendary and were told over and over again throughout the years, especially the stories about coming to the defense of her sister, Dorothy, and the one about her little red scooter.

Edna had talents, too. She taught herself to play the piano although she could not read music, and she loved to sing old songs from her era. Later in life, with her husband, Bill, she put her talents to work by singing with others at senior living facilities.

Family and friends will remember Edna with a smile on their face because she spread joy, hope and friendliness to everyone she met. Visitation is 6-8 p.m., Monday, June 11, 2018, at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd. , North Olmsted, where a Memorial Service will commence at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 12.
