OBITUARY Wayne Robert de la Houssaye February 10, 1941 – October 16, 2018 Wayne Robert de la Houssaye passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Carol Cazayoux de la Houssaye. Wayne was born in New Orleans on February 10th, 1941 to Clyde Greig de la Houssaye and Joslyn Anderson de la Houssaye.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years and three daughters; Courtney de la Houssaye Freeman (Louis Jr.) of New Orleans, Holly de la Houssaye Clark (Thomas) of Los Angeles, and Susan Lyn de la Houssaye of Aspen. He is also survived by his six grandchildren who affectionately called him “Burger”; Louis McDaniel Freeman III, Lt. William Pierce Freeman, USA, Sarah Jane Holbrook Freeman, Alexandra Stimson Clark, Vanessa Abbot Clark and Lindsey Thomas Clark.

Survivors also include five siblings; Clyde de la Houssaye, Lyn de la Houssaye, Foster de la Houssaye, Greig de la Houssaye, and Debbie de la Houssaye and many nieces and nephews. Wayne had many lifelong friends and treasured all of them. He was a kind and gentle soul.

He never had an unkind word about anyone. He loved to travel and especially enjoyed visiting his out-of-town children and grandchildren. He never refused an invitation.

Wayne, having served in the United States Coast Guard as a young man, loved to sail and be on the water. He was a member of the Southern Yacht Club. Wayne was the owner of Floor-N-Wall Distributors.

He appreciated and loved his employees. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church at 444 Metairie Road on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 1:00 PM.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bastion Community of Resilience, 1901 Mirabeau Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70122, www. joinbastion.org, or to the charity of your choice.
