Weenica J. Ballard “Scooby” Funeral Services for Weenica J. Ballard, 44, of Freeport will be Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1615 Skinner Street, Freeport, TX with Pastor Donnell Johnson, Sr., eulogizing and Rev. Andrew Floyd officiating. Burial will be at Bethlehem Christian Cemetery in Cedar Lake, TX.

She was born on July 9, 1974 in Freeport, TX and passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at her residence. After graduating from Brazosport High School in 1992, she attended Howard University where she majored in Communications. She was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church and a Beautician who enjoyed cooking and carpentry.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Angeline and Willie Edison and Lula and Edmond Ballard. She is survived by her parents, Dail and Wilesta Edison Ballard, Freeport, TX, sisters, Twanna Buford Bowen (Roger), Austin, TX, Faith Deverger, Freeport, TX; brothers, Fudail Hasani “Sonny” Ballard, Austin, TX, Akil Ballard, Waco, TX; god sister, Veronica Deverger, Houston, TX; special aunt, Lydia Daily, Cedar Lake and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Monday, September 24, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Angleton.
