Wesley Mart Reese, 55, of DeWitt, went home to his Savior on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018 at DeWitt United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to establish a scholarship for nursing students in Wes’ name. He was born August 11, 1963 in Iowa City, the son of Larry D. & Adele (Geisendorfer) Reese. Wes was united in marriage to Connie J. Mott on March 28, 1987 in Pleasant Valley.

Wes had been a Registered Nurse for over 30 years with Mercy Hospital in Clinton and Genesis Medical Center in Davenport. His love for Jesus was reflected in his dedication to his patients’ care and his profession and he was considered an earth angel by many. He received two Daisy awards in recognition of his exceptional nursing skills and the care he provided.

He had recently earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University and had also been a clinical instructor with Eastern Iowa Community College. Wes’ first priority was always his family. He had touched many lives and was always willing to help those in need.

He also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, mowing his lawn, enjoying his time with his family and playing with his grandson. Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 31 years, Connie; his daughters, Tasha Reese of Cedar Rapids and Charity (Devin) Lindsey of Platte City, Missouri; his grandson, Wesley William Seeman; his father, Larry (Gail) Reese of Bettendorf; his mother, Adele Reese of Washington, Iowa; his sister, Gailia Spenner of Fruitland, Iowa; his brother, Dirk (Melissa) Reese of Carthage, Missouri; his dear mother-in-law, Ardith Mott of LeClaire; and his nieces and nephews. Wes was preceded in death by his grandparents; his good buddy and father-in-law, Don Mott; and his best buddy, Bailey Boy.
