Wilburn Martin, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday, September 16, 2018 at his residence. He was 69. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, September 19, 2018 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Pastor Hilburn Stanley officiating.

Burial will follow at Ft. Mitchell National cemetery at 2:30 PM (EST) with military honors. The family will receive friends from 9 AM until 9:45 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Martin was born in Geneva, Alabama to the late Alton and Vassie Martin. He grew up in a military family and travelled all over before joining the United States Army. During his six year career he served in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

Following his military career he was a Pipefitter and loved to fish. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Linda Martin; daughter, Twila Daughtry (Todd), Michelle Mitchel; grandchildren, Dalton, Calvin, Kyla, Hayden and Thomas; sisters, Shirley Franklin (James), Sheila Cox; brothers and sister in law, Patrick Peacock, Mike Peacock, Glendora Hayes (James); niece, Bobbie Jo and several other nieces and nephews.
