Willetta “Billie” Rae (Thomas) Hiblar, 87, of Bellingham, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2018. Billie, as she was known by family and friends was born November 17, 1930, in Bellingham WA to Horace and LaVerne (Willett) Thomas. She spent her childhood in Whatcom County and attended school in both Lynden and Bellingham.

She spent the majority of her adult life in Oak Harbor with her late husband, Andrew Hiblar. Billie remained a member of the First Christian Church of Bellingham. She was an avid gardener and member of the Oak Harbor Garden Club for many years.

She and Andy loved to hike in the mountains. She enjoyed hand-sewing quilts and had quite a collection. She dabbled in oil painting and loved genealogy She is survived by her children Gene Kester of Bellingham, Michelle (Tim) Thomas of San Antonio, TX, Linda (Steve) King of Maple Falls, Drew Hiblar of Tacoma and Tom (Lynn) Hiblar of Lake Stevens, sister Ruby Tesdall of Cosmopolis, WA.

Grandchildren Chad, Madison, Ryan, Trevor, Nathan, and Heather. Billie was predeceased by her parents Horace and LaVerne; husband, Andrew Hiblar; sisters Lucille Wallace, Beverly Hiblar, and brother Lyle Thomas. In keeping with her wishes, a formal service will not be held.

A gathering of family will take place at a later date.
