Obituary for William “Bill” Cook 92-year-old William “Bill” Cook of Ramsey, Illinois, formerly of Arizona died Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 8:26 AM at his residence at 1125 East 2450 Avenue, Ramsey, Illinois. Cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be in Ramsey Cemetery at a later date. Bill Cook was born Sunday, February 14, 1926 in Ramsey, Illinois the son of Van Cecil and Etta (maiden name Boaz) Cook.

Bill grew up on the family farm southeast of Ramsey attending Sander’s Hill Country School . A veteran of the U.S. Navy during WW II, Bill served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Bill married June Manley who preceded him in death in 2013.

Bill was employed for many years at General Telephone in Arizona starting as a lineman and retiring as a supervisor. Bill was a member of Union Christian Church. Bill Cook is survived by two sons: Michael Cook (Barb) of Phoenix, Arizona and Mark Cook (Karen) of Kingman, Arizona; two grandsons: Christopher Cook of Phoenix, Arizona and Cameron Cook (Jessica) of Phoenix, Arizona; and great-granddaughter Ruby Lee Cook.

One brother Bob Cook of Pana, Illinois also survives. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Carol Diane Milburn and one child who died in infancy. Bill is also preceded in death by his five brothers: Van, Dan, Max, Rex, and Elvin “Tick” Cook.
