OBITUARY William “Bill” Doughten September 12, 1926 – September 6, 2018 William “Bill” Doughten, 91, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018. He was born on September 12, 1926 in Louisville to the late Roger and Viola Doughten. After he graduated from Manuel High School, Bill joined the Navy; where he would serve our country during WWII and the Korean War.

Bill attended the University of Louisville after being honorably discharged from the Navy. He then went on to work for the Louisville Corps of Engineers as a Radio Operator; retiring after 30 years. After retirement, he started playing golf, he was very proud of his 2 holes in one!

His memberships included the Manuel High Alumni and Walnut Street Baptist Church; where he attended the Agape Sunday School Class. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Arnold and his brother, Roger Doughten. Here to carry on his memory are his wife Edith Doughten; 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Visitation will take place from 11-12pm on Monday, September 10th at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. A service for Bill will start at 12pm and then the burial will follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
