Obituary for William “Bill” Paul Skinner William “Bill” Paul Skinner, 70, of Hemphill, Texas, passed away on November 17, 2018, at Houston Methodist Hospital, surrounded by family. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend John Warren.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m., Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Born in Orange, Texas, on June 30, 1948, he was the son of Paul E. Skinner and Lula Marie (Conway) Skinner. He was a retired Electrician, after 45 years with IBEW Local-479, known as “the Siz”.

Bill served his Lord faithfully, and was a member of The Free Mason Lodge in Orange and was a 32nd Degree Master Mason. He was an avid fisherman and like MacGyver, could fix anything he got his hands on, and loved to invent things, often making toys for his grandkids. Bill was a great storyteller, and enjoyed singing karaoke with his Kennawood neighbors and loved to entertain.

He was constantly learning new things, to “educate himself”. Bill had the biggest heart you could imagine, never meeting a stranger, and never having anything bad to say. He will be dearly missed by all those who came to know and love him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Lula Skinner; and sister, Jane Taylor. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Susan Kay Skinner; children, Allisha Bonneaux and husband Gary of Orange, Texas, and Slade Skinner and wife Wendy of Orange, Texas; grandchildren, Garhett Bonneaux, Bridgett Bonneaux, and Presley Skinner; brothers-in-law, Greg Taylor and Laurie Miller, Mark Hebert, and Larson Hebert; and sisters-in-law, Gloria Stearns, and Linda Bray; along with numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Nora’s Home at 8300 El Rio St., Houston, Texas 77054.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the heart failure team of doctors and staff, nurses, PCA’s at Fondren 11 at Houston Methodist Hospital.
