Mr. William Childers, 71 of Quitman passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Tallahassee, Fl. Mr. Childers was born July 19, 1947 to the late Edgar & Maude Thompson Childers. He was a retired Vietnam Veteran with the United States Army and was very proud of his country.

Mr. Childers was also a member of Morrison Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ingrid Childers of Quitman; children, Jeanette (Kenneth) Rivet of Denver Colorado, and Nicole (Nick) Childers of Australia; grandchildren, Amanda Bryant, and Megan Rivet; great grandsons, Connor TwoEagles-Downing, and Wyatt TwoEagles-Downing; one brother, Wilberlyn (Sara) Childers of Moultrie; two sisters, Nancy Hallford of Memphis, Tn, and Edna (Herbert) Connell of Moultrie; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Childers was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Childers, and Edgar Childers; one brother, Noel Childers; and one sister, Anne Touchton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Morrison Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Pitt officiating. Interment will follow with military rites in the church cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Maxwell-Purvis Funeral Home.
