WILLIAM “BILL” LINDBERG Bill Lindberg, age 95 of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania died on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. He was born, William Edward Lindberg, on February 3, 1923 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, one of three sons of Emil Gustave and Lillie Wilhelmina (Ohs) Lindberg. He was a longtime Professor of Music at the University of Pittsburgh and church organist.

He lived a life of music. Bill was also a World War II Veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Ruth (Evans) Lindberg, who died October 28, 1961 and both of his brothers, Earl Frederick Lindberg and Charles Emil Lindberg.

He is survived by four children, William Scott (Terry) Lindberg of Rector, Pennsylvania, Barbara (John) Yogan of Jefferson Hills, Ruth (Benno) Pattison of Atlanta, Georgia and David (Michelle) Lindberg of Jefferson Hills; eleven grandchildren, Bill Lindberg, Kirk (Miranda) Yogan, Lindsey (Fiance’ Tim McGarry) Yogan, Tom Yogan, David, Caroline and Sally Cummings, Keaton, Addison and Delaney Lindberg and Taylor Heasley (currently no great grandchildren, but #1 is on the way! ). Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 4 – 8 PM.

Bill’s funeral service will be in Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church 199 Old Clairton Road, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15236 on Friday, July, 20 2018 at 10 AM. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. His burial with Military Honors will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery in Pleasant Hills, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15236.

If desired donations in Bill’s name may be made to the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. “Bill advanced the Kingdom of God through his music”.
