William F. Johnston, 76, of West Springfield, passed away Friday January 4, 2019 at UMPC Hamot in Erie, PA. Born December 15, 1942 in Conneaut, Ohio. He was the son of James & Nancy (Brady) Johnston.

William served in the United State Army. After he served in the Army William worked for Hercules Packing and the Conneaut Sub Shop until he retired. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, Wrestling, Westerns, listening to Country Music drinking his coffee and joking around with all who knew him.

Survivors include his children, Sharon (Mark) Seifert of Conneaut, Barbara (Dave) Wilson of Kingsville and Wayne (Chris) Johnston of Plymouth Twp. ; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his companion Ginger of West Springfield, PA; stepchildren, Stephanie Watson of Lawrence Park, PA, David Watson II of Girard, PA and Billie Mezzacaeo of Mill Creek, PA; five step grandchildren; brother, Dave Johnston of San Antonio, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, William Jr., Great granddaughter Emily; siblings, Marlene, Bernard and Dewey.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday January 9, 2019 at the Marcy Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut. Rev. Jan Walsh from New Leaf United Methodist Church officiating.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in East Conneaut with military honors being provided by American Legion Cowle Post 151. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family.

Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
