Statesboro Mr. William Gene Hart, son of the late Reppard and Bernice Hall Hart of Statesboro, Ga. was born November 2, 1944 in Statesboro, Georgia. He attended the public schools of Bulloch County and at the young age of 18, he joined the United States Army and served for 3 years with 1 year being in Vietnam.

He received the Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Expert Badge with Rocket Launcher Bar and Expert (Rifle M-14). At an early age he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined Bible Baptist church of Statesboro, Ga where he was a dedicated member. At First Baptist of Immokalee, Fl he served faithfully as a member and was devoted to the sound system.

He was united in holy matrimony to Juliette (Judy) Smith in July of 1967 with 51 wonderful years of marriage. This union was blessed with three children. Mr. William Gene Hart was a loving husband and father.

He was an active member of Bible Baptist Church where he so graciously loved serving others through his cooking and worship. As a result of his generous spirit and pleasant personality, he was loved by many. His Christian life was as beautiful as the pecan trees he matured and manicured, the blueberries he grew, the bees he hived, and the garden he planted.

He cherished his farm animals, his beloved dog Jimbo and his service companion Atlas. Each and every one of us learned so much from him, and his influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him. He quietly departed this life Monday, September 10, 2018 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Reppard and Bernice Hall Hart of Statesboro, Ga. , and Father and Mother-in-law Edgar and Clara Smith of Fort Myers, Fl. His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his wife, Juliette (Judy) Smith and his children: William Gene (Billy) Hart Jr. of Key West, Fl.

, Timothy S. Hart of Statesboro, Ga. , Angela (Angie) Hart Collins of Brooklet, Ga. , Son-in-law Vernon Stacey Collins and Daughter-in-law Christi Phinney Hart of Blairsville, Ga.

; seven grandchildren, Joshua Sandoval, Madison Sandoval, Kasey Collins, Gretchen Hart, Wayne Hart, Tyler Hart and Zachary Baker. Brothers and Sister, James (Virgina) Hart of Statesboro, Ga. , Ray (Kay) Hart of Woodstock, Ga.

, Danny (Tina) Hart of Statesboro, Ga. , Alan (Gail) Hart of Connelly Springs, Nc and Sister Kay Smith of Statesboro, Ga. Brothers and Sister-in-laws; Jimmy (Lorrine) Smith of Punta Gorda, Fl, Patsy (Marty) Martin, Fort Myers, Fl, Trudy (Flip) Harby of Fort Myers Beach, Fl and Pete (Mary) Smith of St. James City, Fl.

Also survived by many nieces and nephews with many nephews and nieces. Pallbearers will be the BBC Men’s Sunday School and Honorable Pallbearers with the BBC Focus Group. Viewing will be held Thursday September 13, 2018 at Bible Baptist Church in Statesboro, GA from 6:00-8:00 pm.

Funeral will be held Friday September 14, 2018 at Bible Baptist Church at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, GA at 3:00 pm Our hearts have been made to rejoice during the illness and passing of our loved one by the many acts of kindness extended to our family. Your prayers and all expressions of love and sympathy are greatly appreciated.
