William H. “Bill” Ostermeier JR, age 93, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away early Wednesday morning, November 7, 2018 at the Artis Senior Living Center in Mason, Ohio. He was born September 1, 1925 in Springfield, IL, son of the late William Henry & Wilhemine Minnie (Stach) Ostermeier SR. A Jefferson Township High School Graduate, he started his adulthood being a farmer in the Westboro area.

He then joined the US Marine Corps, serving for 27 years during WW II, Korean War, & Vietnam War, retiring on April 30, 1972. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Wilmington Surviving are his loving wife- Ruby Carion (Noir) Ostermeier of Wilmington; sons- Daniel Ostermeier of Vista, CA, David (Debbie) Ostermeier of Aurora, CO, & Donald (Mary) Ostermeier of Vista, CA; 6 grandchildren- Christina Ostermeier of Oceanside, CA, Ernesto Ostermeier of Oceanside, CA, Aaron Ostermeier of Oceanside, CA, Jonathan Ostermeier of Aurora, CO, Madison Ostermeier of Vista, CA & Devon Ostermeier of Vista, CA; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers- David (Eileen) Ostermeier, & Charles Ostermeier, both of Wilmington; step-daughter- Linda (Hans) Delius of Lake Tomahawk, WI; step-son- Paul (Lynn) Casperson of Columbus, IN; step-granddaughters- Ann Spicer of Greenwood, IN, & Nicole Casperson of Columbus, IN and 2 step-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother- Leonard Ostermeier.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church, 421 East Vine Street at Prairie Avenue with Pastor June Fryman officiating. The Active Duty US Marine Corps Troops and the Wilmington American Legion Post #49 Honor Squad will accord full military honors immediately following the funeral service. Interment will be at the family’s convenience in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery, Lynchburg, Ohio.

Friends will be received from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Faith Lutheran Church. The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
