William H. Sober, Jr., 66, of Williamsport, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018 at the Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital. He was born August 3, 1951 in Williamsport, the son of the late William H. Sober, Sr. and Edythe (Heinlen) Sober. William was a member of Dietrick Lamade Lodge #755 F.&A.M. Williamsport, past officer in Chapter of Rose Croix of the Williamsport Scottish Rite.

He also was a member of the Zafar Grotto in South Williamsport, where he was a Past Monarch, Past President of the PA Grotto Association, and Charter member and the Past Trustee of Tall Cedars of Lebanon Susquehanna Forest #199. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Elaine Fay; and a niece Shannon M. Sober. William is survived by three brothers; Charles L. Sober of Williamsport, Robert A. Sober of Linden, and Edward L. Sober of Ashland City, Tenn.

; two sisters, Karen (Jim) Fink of Montoursville, and Lynda (Jim) Snyder of Watsontown. A funeral service to honor the life of William will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2018 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St, Williamsport. Interment will follow in Blooming Grove Cemetery.

A viewing for family and friends will be held 10-11 a.m. Friday at Sanders. A Masonic Funeral Service will precede the funeral service.
