William Howard Belcourt , July 22, 1940 — December 21, 2018

William Howard Belcourt July 22, 1940 – December 21, 2018 William Howard Belcourt, 78, of Durham, husband of Ethel Ruth Belcourt, passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside. He was born in Meriden to the late Howard and Antionette (Palladino) Belcourt and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s School and Meriden H.S. He entered the U.S. Navy after graduating and was stationed on the U.S.S. Valley Forge as a Bosun Mate.

He worked at Meriden Lumber Co. until being appointed to the Meriden Police Force in 1964. He later worked security positions until his final retirement from Kamen Engineering. In addition to his loving wife, Ethel, of 57 years, he is survived by his daughters, Lori Belcourt of Hudson, MA, and Susan Courchesne of Durham; his grandchildren, Casey, Hunter, Brody, Colby, Kandice, Blake and Sadie who Born: July 22, 1940 were his pride and joy; his brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Donna Belcourt Death: December 21, 2018 of Meriden; his sister, Lynette Milardo of Portland; his son-in-law, Robert Riley of Woodbridge; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Tammy Riley; his in-laws, Edward and Sylvia Slade, his sister-in-law, Sheila Papciak; his niece, Michele Violissi; and many aunts and uncles. Bill was extremely proud of his service in the Navy and his career on the Meriden Police Force. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and of their accomplishments.

He was a loyal N.Y. Yankees fan, a lover of cars, trucks, model trains, antique stoves and flea marketing. Fishing with his dad was his greatest pleasure. His family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St., Ext.

, Wallingford, Wednesday, Dec. 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery.
