OBITUARY William Howard Ward January 31, 1947 – September 21, 2018 William Howard “Butch” Ward, 71, of Nags Head, NC died Friday, September 21, 2018, at Peak Res – Outer Banks. Born in Asheville, NC on January 31, 1947, he was the son of the late Louise Lipps Ward and William Allen Ward. After graduating from Harding High School in Charlotte, Butch then attended East Carolina University.

He was a jeweler and antique collector having owned and operated the Emporium in Kings Mountain, NC. A talented musician, Butch was a drummer with the Hertford Fife and Drum Corps and numerous other bands. He attended Resurrection Lutheran Church in Kings Mountain, NC.

Butch is survived by his wife, Ann Falls Ward; two children, Claire Ward Katz (Mark) and William T. Ward (Lauren); four step-children, Allison, John, Rebecca, and Andy; one granddaughter, Corinne Ward; eight step-grandchildren; brother-in-law, David Falls (Pam); and numerous cousins. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”. 2 Timothy 4:7 A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Carothers Funeral Chapel, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, NC 28054.
