Obituary for William “Bill” Patch William “Bill” Julius Patch 84 of Harrison went to be with his Lord on Thursday, September 6, 2018. William was born June 5, 1934 in Cass City, Michigan the son of William M. Patch and Lena B. (Wentworth) Patch. Bill graduated from Cass City High School in 1952.

On October 17, 1953 in Cass City, William was united in marriage to Mildred Arnott. Mr. Patch was a longtime resident, businessman and community member of Harrison, moving here in 1961 from Cass City. Bill was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church, Harrison, where he worshiped, served as board member, song leader and youth leader for over 50 years.

In 1961, when the Patch family moved to Harrison, Bill opened Patch’s Supermarket of Harrison for five years. Bill then began his thirty year career with Ashcraft’s Markets as a meat cutter and meat and deli supervisor. Bill also spent many years working at Stocking Funeral Home as a funeral directors assistant and caregiver to many families.

Mr. Patch spent many years with the Gideons International, handing out Bibles and spreading the Good News. Bill enjoyed golfing, camping, and most fondly, spending winters in Florida. Many will fondly remember Bill for his kindness, compassion and love for people.

Surviving Bill is his loving wife of sixty four years, Mrs. Mildred “Millie” Patch of Harrison, three daughters; Connie Wozniak and husband Larry of Pass Christian, Mississippi, Cindy Cook and husband John of Harrison and Cheryl Patch of Harrison, two sons; John Patch and wife Sue of Grand Blanc, Michigan and Donald Patch and wife Sandy of Harrison, fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, plus many loving nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Stella Hennessey and one brother, Bruce Wentworth. Funeral services celebrating William’s home going will be held Monday, September 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. from First Baptist Church, 3088 Mostetler Road, Harrison.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison and Monday, September 10, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. until time of services at First Baptist Church. Bill will be laid to rest at Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial gifts in memory of Mr. Patch may be considered to: First Baptist Church, Harrison.
