William Wasser, 65, of Ringtown, passed away at home on Tuesday, May 22nd, 2018. Bill was born in Shenandoah, on December 8, 1952, a son of the late Margaret (Leskowsky) and James Wasser. He was a 1971 graduate of the North Schuylkill High School and enjoyed playing volleyball.

Recently retired, Bill worked in the maintenance department at Jeld-Wen in Ringtown for for over 41 years. He had a passion for automobiles, from building engines, to working on them, to racing them, both on dirt tracks in his early days and more recently on the drag strip. He was known for driving his 1946 Ford daily.

Bill also enjoyed projects around his home, including decorating his house for both Halloween and Christmas. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Janice (Ambrose) Wasser and their daughters, Adriane, and her fiancee Timothy Vought, of Elysburg; and Erin, wife of Eric Cookson, of St. Clair. He is also survived by his cherished granddaughter, Abby, and enjoyed attending her sporting events and spending time with her at the beach.

William is also survived by two brothers, Jim, and his wife Jody, of Zion Grove; Joe, and his wife Roseann, of Hometown; brother in law, Bill Ambrose, and his wife AnaMaria; brother in law, John Ambrose and his wife Dottie and a sister in law Eileen Teter. He is also survived by an extended family of step siblings along with nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 26th at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ringtown, PA with Pastor Jay Serafin officiating.

A viewing will be held 5 PM to 8 PM on Friday, May 25th at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown, and again from 10 AM to 11 AM on Saturday, May 26th at St. John’s Lutheran Church prior to the service. Burial will take place at St. John’s Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are asked to be made to either the Ruth Steinert SPCA or or St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
