Obituary for William K. Neely Jr. William Kirby Neely Jr. known to family and friends as “Bill” passed away on July 22, 2018 at the age of 81. A Native of Texas, born in Galveston, spending his childhood in El Paso, raising a family in San Antonio and working as a Commercial Trailer Salesman. Bill was a wonderful loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.
He loved jokes, pranks, telling stories of his youth as an Army Brat and he had the most infectious laugh. Bill was an avid Street Rodder who was a member and once a director of the Lone Star Street Rod Association, a Lifetime Member of the National Street Rod Association and also a member of the Pride of Texas Club in Boerne, TX. Bill was named 2012 Street Rodder of the year by the LSSRA, an award he cherished.
Bill is survived by his wife Geneva Neely, sister Juanita Elkins and husband Jerry Wright of El Paso Tx. Son Rick and wife Leslie Neely of Midland TX, Daughters Gina and husband Jay Ohmes of Midland Tx, Dana and husband Tommy Mathews of Boerne TX, DeAnn and husband Leonard Navarro of San Antonio TX, Debra and husband Glenn Gainor of Los Angeles CA, Kathy Foust and Scott Neely, Nieces Kim and Tami Elkins, 20 Grandchildren, 24 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandson. His extended family was the Street Rod Community throughout the Nation.
Preceded in death by his parents William Kirby Neely Sr and Eloise Juanita Neely along with a Great Granddaughter Griffin Noelle Anderson. Services will be held at 12:00PM on Saturday August 18th, 2018 at Mission Park Funeral Chapel North ,3401 Cherry Ridge, San Antonio, TX 78230. Followed by a procession to St. Helena’s Episcopal Church, 410 Main Street Boerne TX.
