OBITUARY William Overstreet October 31, 1921 – July 21, 2018 Overstreet, William B. 96, a resident of Annapolis MD for over 30 years, and previously of DC/Metro area, found peace on July 21, 2018. Bill was born in Roanoke, VA on October 31, 1921. He attended the University of Maryland and left to serve his country during WWII, where he attained the rank of Lt.

Col. After the military, he began his career with the U.S. Geological Survey, until his retirement as Assistant Director. Bill always an avid sports fan, loved the Washington Redskins, and enjoyed many years as a softball player.

Bill became a member of ACSM (American Congress of Surveying and Mapping) he was part of a delegation to Permanent Committee meetings to the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG),where he served as secretary general to FIG, the first U.S. Representative to serve in that capacity in the organization’s 100 year history. Bill’s accolades also include, he is only the 42nd person to be named an Honorary Member of ACSM. Bill is survived by his Beloved wife, whom he married in 1978, Doris L. Overstreet, of Annapolis, MD, his loving children; Dale L. Overstreet (Susan) of Charlotte Hall, MD, Glen F. Overstreet (Cindy) of Mt.

Airy, MD, and Ann McDonald (Tim) of Germantown, MD, as well as 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
