William P. Smiejan passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. He was born in Bayonne to the late Rose (nee: Minarik) and Stephen Smiejan and was a lifelong resident. William was a 1976 graduate of Jersey City State College where he was awarded a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Chemistry.

He was a supervisor for Cargill, Inc. in Port Newark from 1985 until 2001. Prior to his employment at Cargill, he worked for Castor Oil in Bayonne, U.S. Testing in Hoboken and Caschem in Bayonne. William is survived by his dear brother, Stephen Smiejan, Jr. The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Tuesday, May 28, 2019.

A funeral Mass will be held at the Parish of St. John Paul II at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 a.m. followed by cremation at Rosehill Crematory. Visitation will take place on Monday, May 27, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. William’s ashes will be inurned at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum at a later date.
