William Ray Smith , 71, of Parkersburg passed away July 4, 2018 at Camden Clark Medical Center. William was born on February 3, 1947 in Follansbee, WV and was the son of the late John William and Goldina “Dink” (Chipps) Smith. William lived most of his life in St. Mary’s, WV and had worked as a foreman for Corning Glass.

He loved spending time with his grandchildren and telling stories. He enjoyed hunting and was a WVU Football and NASCAR fan. He is survived by his daughter Casey Jenkins (Wayne) of Parkersburg, sons Jason Smith (Keri) of Little Hocking and Tim Smith of Parkersburg, daughter Wendy Smith/Peyton (Joe) of St. Mary’s, WV; grandchildren Willow, Jack and Finn Peyton, Mollie and Daniel Smith, Greyson Jenkins and Brooklyn Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Cayden Smith and 6 siblings. Visitation will be held Sunday 2-4 pm at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, WV. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Parkersburg Humane Society, P.O. Box 392, Parkersburg WV, 26101.
