John M. Dilly, 65, Parkersburg, passed away unexpectedly on September 25, 2018 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born October 18, 1952, one of four children of the late Okey and Beulah McCracken Dilly. John was raised in Murphytown and was very proud of his family roots.

He graduated from Parkersburg High School and attended WVUP. He was a US Air Force veteran and honored to have served his country. John was a member of the Insulators Union Local #80 for thirty years and had worked an various locations throughout the Ohio Valley.

He enjoyed electronics and playing his guitar. John had served as a soccer coach with his sons soccer team and was well respected by many of the players. He was an avid West Virginia fan and proud to let others know who he was rooting for.

John is survived by his son Christopher Dilly, significant other Cindy “Cyd” Archer, sisters Joyce Dilly Van Camp (Danny) of High Point, NC, Betsy Dilly Myer (John) of Vienna, brother Neil Dilly (Renee) of Murphytown, several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and great nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor David Dye officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens with full military rites by American Legion Post #15.

Visitation will be 5 – 8 on Thursday and for one hour prior to the service on Friday.
