Obituary for Willie C. Buchanan, Jr. Willie C. Buchanan, Sr., was born August 9, 1944 to Ulysses and Jessie Buchanan in Houston, Mississippi. Willie departed this life on September 24, 2018 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter; Betty Sue Lockridge, and sister; Betty Jean Buchanan. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife; Geraldine Buchanan, son; Willie C. Buchanan, Jr., daughters; Mary Buchanan, Sandra Covington and Barbara Robinson, brothers; Samuel Moore, Jerry Moore and Lonnie Wilson, sisters; Dr. Sarah Ann Lawson, Mary Muhammad, Helen Ford, Minnie Wilson and Diane Walker and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Ivy K. Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Ave. SE, at 1:00 PM. Friends may meet with the family one hour prior to services at 12:00 noon.
