Obituary for Willie Flake Roberts Services for Mrs. Willie Flake Roberts, age 97 of Lindale, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale with Bro. Everett Nix officiating. The interment will follow in the Damascus Cemetery.

Mrs. Roberts died Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at a nursing center in Tyler. She was born in Smith County on April 15, 1921 to William Henry and Tibitha (Hagewood) Bowles. Mrs. Roberts was a lifelong resident of the Tyler and Lindale area and was a member of the Damascus Baptist Church.

She retired from U.T. Tyler as a manager in the Laundry Department. She loved to cook, fish, and travel with her friends. Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Tibitha Bowles and Nannie Bowles, husband, J.W. Roberts in 2005, brother, James Truitt Bowles, and son-in-law, Whan Shores in 2016.

She is survived by daughter, Carolyn Shores of Lindale; son, C B Roberts and wife, Ann of Tyler; 3 sisters, Ella Laird of Tyler; Nella Ware of Tyler; Geneva Brewer of Bixby, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren, Brad Roberts and wife, Holly of Arp; Julie Thompson and husband, Deewayne of Red Springs; Randy Roberts and wife, Jill of Whitehouse; Chris Roberts and wife, Christin of Conroe; 8 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
