Graveside services for Sammie Dean McLelland, age 86, of Lindale, Texas are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 17, 2019 in the Hopewell Cemetery with Pastor Mike Morrow officiating. Services are under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. Sammie died Sunday, January 13, 2019 in a Tyler, Texas hospital.

She was born on the Spade Ranch in Spade, Texas on December 1, 1932 to the late Horace Preston and Jennie (Johnson) Pointer. Sammie was a wife, mother and had previously worked for Kroger Grocery Stores. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Billy Marion McLelland on February 5, 2013; brothers, Bill Pointer and Preston Pointer; sisters, Gladys Dawson, Irene Jones and Janie Gibson.

Sammie is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Kippy and Kathy McLelland of Van, Texas; Skipper & Laura McLelland of Chandler, Texas; Corky and Alice Ann McLelland of Lindale, Texas and Dusty McLelland and Lyndsey Icenhower of Lindale, Texas; grandchildren, Melissa Andrews, Nikole Martin, Caleb McLelland, Weston Brown, Blair Jones, Leigh Ashley Brown, Josh Armour, Dusty McLelland, Jr., Savannah McLelland and Chance Elrod; great grandchildren, Lillian Grace Andrews, Jakob McLelland, Jase Brown, McKenna Brown, Lanee Martin, Maya Martin, Maddex Robertson, Maverick Armour, Maxston Armour, Dixie Hagen, Cooper Hagen, Arlo McLelland and Brennan McLelland; and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Skipper McLelland, Corky McLelland, Dusty McLelland, Kippy McLelland, Josh Armour, Dusty McLelland, Jr., Caleb McLelland and Dustin Martin. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 17, 2019, prior to the graveside service, at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
