Willis Leroy Whitman, 76, passed away February 26, 2019. A native of Greenville County, son of the late Leroy “Buck” and Myrtle Louise Britton Whitman, he was a retired employee of Hoechst Celanese, and attended New Covenant Fellowship. Surviving are his wife, Beatrice Sammons Whitman of the home; one son, W. Lamar Whitman (Brandy) of Greer; two daughters, Cindy W. Burrell (Anthony) and Katina W. Henson (David) all of Greer; five grandchildren, Timothy Burrell (Kristin), Kellie Trammell (R.J.), Zeke Whitman, Kandace Henson, and Kourtney Henson; and five great-grandchildren, Ezri Burrell, Nate Burrell, Adelaide Burrell, Jensen Burrell and Geneieve Burrell.

He was also predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Jay Whitman; three sisters, Betty Slatton, Louise Stephens and Ann Burrell; and one grandson, Mark Burrell. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2019 at New Covenant Fellowship, conducted by Rev. Lamar Breazeale, Rev.

Ron Nichols and Rev. Keith Hannon. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Tucker, Scott Adams, David Foster, Tony Larke, Dewayne Pace, Jonathan Sentell and Lamar Whitman. Visitation will be held 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2019 at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home.
