Wilna E. “Billie” Ballard September 27, 1928 – May 27, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Mara Wilna E. “Billie” Ballard, 90, passed away Monday, May 27, 2019, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born in Lee County, September 27, 1928, to John and Lucille Clayton Elliott. For a number of years, she worked as a Congressional Aide for Congressman Jamie Whitten and had also worked as a secretary for John Osberg.

She was a member of First Chrisitan Church in Tupelo. Survivors include one son, Mike Ballard and his wife,Cathy of Saltillo; three grandchildren, John Michael Ballard and his wife, Joy of Plantersville, William Bradley Ballard of Plantersville and Kelly Ballard of Saltillo; and four great-grandchildren, Caleb Ballard, Taylor Ballard, Chase Ballard and Gavin Ballard. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Martha Elliott Hester.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday, May 31, 2019, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo. Services honoring her life will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2019, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Johnnie Ray and Rev.

Sherry Horton officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. The service will be live streamed and recorded for those who may not be able to attend at www.
