Obituary for Wilson Howard “Bill” Willie Mr. Wilson Howard “Bill” Willie, age 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family in Belle Chasse. “I have kept the faith, I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course”. - 2 Timothy 4:7.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Willie and Katie W. Willie and two brothers, Ray Willie and Myer Willie. He is the beloved husband of his devoted wife and best friend of 63 years, Nathalie “Nat” Agatha Buras Willie of Belle Chasse. He is the loving father of one son, Wilson Hank Willie and his wife, Peggy of Belle Chasse and his two daughters, Johnnie Willie Eccles and her husband, Fred Eccles of Baton Rouge and Anita Willie Ardoin and her husband, Dr. Robin Ardoin of Lafayette.

He is the devoted grandfather of nine grandchildren, Jenny W. Hodas, Sarah W. Flynn, Robert Wilson Willie, Susan Nathalie Eccles, Michael F. Eccles, Amanda N. Eccles, Jacob C. Moak, Lauren M. Burroughs and Alexis N. Moak; and six great-grandchildren, Lyla Hodas, Charlie Wilson Flynn, Nathalie Parker, Elisheva Moak, Tsafrina Moak, and Katherine Burroughs. He is also survived by extended family member, Shackey Brooks; one brother, Lee Willie, and many exceptionally wonderful friends and neighbors. Bill was born on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25, 1929 in Folsom, LA and was a life-long resident of Belle Chasse, LA.

As a Chief Master Sergeant, he proudly served his country for over 40 years in the Louisiana Air National Guard and United States Air Force, including active duty during the Korean Conflict, where he received a special individual commendation. He was a member of the American Legion Post 329. He was a faithful attendee of First Baptist Church of Belle Chasse and an active member of the Senior Adult Group, as well as participated in the local 4-H Club, serving as a judge in frequent contests.

His pride and joy were his horses, singing and his military career. Bill was an accomplished Appaloosas Halter Horseman winning awards across the southern states. He will be forever remembered for his devotion to his family and spiritual beliefs.

Visitation will be observed at First Baptist Church in Belle Chasse on Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Ceremony will be celebrated on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church, 8828 LA-23, Belle Chasse, LA. Reverend Weldon B. Moak of First Baptist Church of Broussard and Pastor Jason Allen of First Baptist Church of Belle Chasse will officiate.

Entombment will follow beginning at 1:00 PM with military honors in their family owned cemetery, Wilson Willie Cemetery in Folsom, LA.
