Wolfeboro, NH Yvonne (Bilodeau) Bernier, 81, of Wolfeboro, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 14, 2018 after a brief stay at the Mountain View Community, Ossipee, NH with her loving family by her side. Yvonne was a native and life-long resident of Wolfeboro, NH. She was born January 24, 1937 the daughter of the late Joseph D. and Dorothy (Valley) Bilodeau.

After graduating from Brewster Academy in 1955 she began working as a secretary at Kallad Law Office and later working for Philip Ganem at his law office at which she retired after 40 years as his office manager. She served on the Budget Committee for the Town of Wolfeboro for two terms. In 1958 she married the love of her life, Lionel “Bernie” Bernier enjoying 60 years together raising their family, enjoying their grandchildren, traveling, cruising, and her monthly trips with Bernie to Oxford, ME and celebrating birthdays, holidays and anniversaries.

For the past several years she enjoyed their winter home together in New Port Ritchey, Florida. She was an avid reader, a great cook and cookbook collector, a knitter and crafter. Yvonne was also an avid Red Sox Fan and was very pleased to watch the team win another World Series in 2018.

Yvonne was a devout Catholic as a member of St. Katharine Drexel Church in Alton, NH, formerly St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church of Wolfeboro, NH where she played organ for many years. She volunteered for Parish Ministries by contributing to the bereavement receptions, knitting prayer shawls, donating to Thanksgiving Food drives and Christmas giving trees. She was a loving and devoted wife, a generous and caring mother, Grandmother, Sister and Aunt.

She was expecting to be a great –grandmother this April 2019. She leaves behind her loving husband Lionel “Bernie” Bernier, Wolfeboro, NH a son Dana Bernier and his wife Patti of Portsmouth, NH; a daughter Desiree Luby and her husband Jeffrey of Wolfeboro, NH; her grandchildren Erika Bernier Sollenbeger, Anthony Bernier, Andrew, Jenna, Jillian, and Karalyn Luby. She also leaves behind a brother Romeo Bilodeau, Seal Beach, FL and her sister Lena Jordan, Venice, FL as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sisters Mary Warren, and Loretta Steadman. Calling hours will be Sunday, November18, 2018 from 3-5PM at Lord Funeral Home, Wolfeboro, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 19, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 40 Hidden Springs Road, Alton, NH with a reception to follow at the Church.

Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Wolfeboro, NH. Yvonne’s family will be forever grateful for the loving care and comfort from all the staff at Mountain View Community; The Seacoast Cancer Center and Wentworth Douglas Hospital. Donations in her memory may be made to the Parish Relief Fund at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, PO Box 180, Wolfeboro, NH.
