Obituary of Yvonne Gunnyon Yvonne Janet Gunnyon was born in Camas, at her family home on Nov. 24, 1939, and passed away in Portland, Ore. , on Jan.

8, 2019. Reared by parents Laurel and Ephraim Crosswell in Camas, Yvonne remained in that community for about six decades. She was married to James Brown in the late 50s.

Divorced several years later, she remained single until her marriage to Edward Gunnyon in the early 70s. Whether married or single, Yvonne helped support her four children and a disabled uncle over the years by working as a bank teller; she also used her talents to establish two successful businesses involving upholstery and leatherwork until her retirement in 2001. At that time, she moved farther east in the Columbia River Gorge, settling in Underwood.

From then on, she enjoyed single life by volunteering at the Second Hand Rose store in Bingen, and by helping students at Mill A Elementary School learn to read and how to study effectively. While living in Camas, Yvonne attended the Church of the Nazarene. Then in more recent years, she became a valued member of the White Salmon Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Yvonne Gunnyon was preceded in death by her former husband James Brown and by an infant daughter Vickie. Yvonne is survived by her four children: Timothy Brown of Portland, Ore. , Teresa Brown of Madras, Ore.

, Shirley Gunnyon of Oregon, and Virginia (Gunnyon) Boucher and husband Timothy of Willard; 11 grandchildren, Nick Brown, Chelsea Brown, Taylor Summers, Dawnlyn Courtney, Colin Towell, Jacob Gunnyon (and wife Ruth), Ekko Boucher, Jessica Boucher, Skylar Kerr, Nolan Boucher, and Stephanie Rider (and husband Josh); and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gunnyon’s memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 509 Tohomish St. in White Salmon.

A lunch for family and friends will follow at the church’s nearby Fellowship Building. Donations “in memory of Yvonne Gunnyon” may be sent to: Seventh-day Adventist Church, PO Box 9, White Salmon, WA 98672.
