Yvonne M. Storck, age 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 4, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on April 24, 1928 to Francis and Bernice (Gleason) Dion in Muskegon. She attended St. Mary’s High School where she managed the cheerleading squad and graduated in 1946.

On December 2, 1950, she married the love of her life, Fred Storck, and they spent 64 happy years together until his passing on October 4, 2015. Yvonne worked as a dental assistant for many years. She later joined the Muskegon Police Department as a LEIN and 911 dispatch operator, a job she enjoyed until her retirement.

Yvonne was an active and faithful member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Since graduating from high school, she gathered with a special group of 12 girlfriends every month, taking turns at each other’s houses, sharing lots of laughs and delicious desserts. Yvonne truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, going for car rides around the lake, watching deer and wildlife at a special place near the beach or the cardinals and songbirds outside her living room window, watching reality TV, reading, playing “Design Home” on her cell phone, but most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren, capturing special moments in their lives with video and photographs and creating hilarious “Snapchats”.

A beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Yvonne’s talents were many. In addition to her mad math skills, drawing, cooking and baking (especially her famous birthday cakes and pies), she was an extremely accomplished seamstress. She also enjoyed researching and recording her family’s genealogy, going back many generations.

She will be greatly missed by her loving children, Thomas (Marsha) Storck, Timothy Storck, Shayne Storck (John Byers), Suzanne (Roger) Tyria, Laureen (Randy) Robinson; grandchildren, Heather (Steve), Eric (Mayra), Salem (Dave), Timothy (Ashley), Savannah, Shannon (Ismael), Steven, Christopher, Kyle (Janay), Tonya (Travis), Carri (Jerry), Cassidy, Andrew, Peter (Chelsea), Phillip (Tiffany); 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; brother, Joseph (Jean) Dion, and many devoted family members and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Fred, and brothers, Thomas and Robert Dion. VISITATION with Yvonne’s family will take place on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd.
