After many months of struggling with health issues, she rests in peace with her Lord. Ada was born March 23, 1930 in Harvey, IL to Gladys Mae Pulliam Brewer and Richard Ray Brewer, raised in a log cabin on the family farm.
She graduated class salutatorian in LaPorte, MN in 1949. She married Gordon L. Hiney on February 21, 1950 in Las Cruces, NM. They raised two children, Gordon and Dawn, and traveled many places as Gordon served in the US Airforce.
Gordon died in 1957 while the family was living in Japan. Ada returned stateside with her two young children to live in upstate New York. She worked her entire career as a bookkeeper in the automotive industry.
Ada married James Tzivani on November 3, 1984. They loved to travel and enjoyed many wonderful trips across the United States, Canada and Europe. Ada was devout in her faith, always a caregiver and passionate about cooking and gardening.
Shy and humble, she was quick to make friends. She finally retired from managing her apartments at age 79 when she moved to Good Samaritan in Loveland to be close to her son and his family. The family was relieved when she was no longer climbing on the flat roof to shovel snow or fixing snowblowers.
Ada is survived by her son, Gordon L. Hiney (Cindy) of Windsor, CO, her daughter, Dawn King (Lynn) of Waterloo, NY and step-daughter, Cheryl Forrest (Michael) of Alexander, AR; seven grandchildren, Leif Guldy (Stephanie) of Highlands Ranch, CO, Yancy Guldy of Astoria, NY, Gordon Swafford (Deanna) of Indianapolis, IN, Erin Hiney of Charlotte, NC, Kenny Colton of Waterloo, NY, Eric Colton (Shai) of Waterloo, NY and Scott Galbreath (Jessica Fredette) of Auburn, NY; eight great grandchildren, Hailey and Hayden Guldy of Highlands Ranch, CO, Tyler and Autumn Colton of Waterloo, NY, Caitlyn Colton of Buffalo, NY and Stephan, Kaiden and Kaleb Galbreath of Auburn, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Gladys Brewer, siblings Clarence, James, Clyde, Catherine, Robert and Alice, and husbands, Gordon L. Hiney and James Tzivani. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, February 28th at 2:00 p.m. at the Spiritual Life Center at Good Samaritan Society – Loveland Village, 2101 S. Garfield, Loveland, CO.
A family graveside service will be held at Butler-Savannah Cemetery, Savannah, NY in the summer for interment of cremated remains. Memorial contributions in Ada’s honor may be made to the Good Samaritan Foundation or First United Methodist Church, Loveland, CO in care of Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home, 1102 N. Lincoln Ave. , Loveland, CO 80537.
