Adam’s Obituary Adam F. Roerick, 78 of Tolna, ND passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks, ND. Adam Frank Roerick, one of 12 children born to Michael and Dorothy (Hager) Roerick was born on June 1, 1940 at Esmond, North Dakota. He lived with the family in the Esmond area until age 12 when the family moved to the farm in the Tolna area.

Adam graduated from Tolna High School in 1958. He continued his education at UND where he participated in ROTC. He graduated from Dickinson State College with a degree in Mathematics and Science.

Adam married Sandra Glover in 1967 at Englewood, Colorado. Adam’s first teaching position was in Sitka, Alaska and he also taught for a time in Westminster, Colorado, McVille and Tolna, ND. Teaching was just one of the many interests, talents and adventures that would be a page in the life story of Adam Roerick.

Adam worked as a Tax Preparer, Crop Insurance Adjuster, owner and operator of a Mobile Home Business and a hobby farmer. In 1978, Adam was able to fulfill that lifelong dream of returning to the family farm at Tolna to live out the rest of his years. Life at Tolna was spent as a farmer, an active community volunteer, the fixer, the gardener, the wine maker and so many other projects and needs he was able to be a part of.

As a fixer, the family’s most famous quote was “Dad’ll fix it”. He never thought anything should be thrown away until he had a chance to tinker with it or make something totally different out of all the parts he had left. As neighbor and friend he was always ready to help and loved a good visit, with good friends and good food.

Family was the most important part of Adam’s life and he always made sure to keep a close connection to immediate and extended family members. Adam was the proud owner of the first Prius sold in North Dakota, enjoyed a whirl around the dance floor on occasion, was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph Catholic Church, singing in the choir and also a member of the Tolna Commerical Club. So many thoughts of love and laughter to hold in our hearts as we place our beloved Adam into the arms of his Lord and Savior.
