Adeline Furlong (82), a resident of Ann Arbor, a native of New York, passed away Wednesday the 15th of May at her home in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Our “Sweet Adeline” was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on August 28, 1936.

She worked as a secretary until she retired from St. Francis Hospital in 2004. After retirement Addy had time to enjoy her passions; bowling, reading, traveling to Florida, watching her favorite team, The NY Yankees, and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandkids, and friends. Addy was always in a New York state of mind, especially when looking at her favorite picture of Frank Sinatra that hangs in her bedroom.

She never left for a bowling tournament without her Derek Jeter bowling ball and making sure the Yankee games were all set to be recorded for her to watch when she returned. When Addy moved to Ann Arbor she became very involved in her Senior’s Book Club. She loved spending time reading a variety of books and discussing them each month with her “ladies”.

She will be lovingly remembered by her brother: Frank Bianco (Francis), son: Gerard E. Furlong Jr. (Nancy), grandchildren: Kristin Grice (Jonathan), Courtney Furlong, and Kyle Furlong and great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn, William, and Jameson. She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Mary Bianco and daughter: Sharon Roberts. A celebration of life will follow the memorial at The Grice House, 1383 S. Zeeb Rd.
