Agnes graduated in 1946 from Perry Traditional Academy on North Side, Pittsburgh, PA. The 1946 Perry Academy Yearbook, “The Perryscope”, describes Agnes as quiet and dependable, forecasting that she would make a good secretary. Her interests were sewing, swimming and dancing.

Agnes was a devoted Catholic who attended daily Mass at Incarnation Catholic Church, served as Eucharistic Minister, sang in the Choir and participated in various parish activities. In 1994, Agnes joined the Benedictine Oblates at St. Benedict Monastery in Ross Township and lived the values of the Rule of St. Benedict: commitment to God and her church through hospitality, stability, simplicity and graciousness with all she met. When the Benedictine Senior Center opened, Agnes often came to join in activities and lunch with other members. She offered her services in helping to serve the meals and assist in the kitchen. Her kindness was also shared in the Benedictine Adult Day Care.

Although Agnes had no children, she made friends everywhere she went, spreading her love for others. Since she did not drive, Agnes was often seen walking to her destinations. Most of the regular riders knew her on the PAT bus between West View and downtown Pittsburgh.
