Obituary of Agnes Gregory Agnes H. Gregory, 96, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 7, 2018 in Brewster, New York. Born in Dundee, Scotland, on January 7, 1922, she was the daughter of the late David E. and Leticia Britton Hayter. Agnes came with her family to live in America at the age of 5.

On March 16, 1946, in Ridgewood, Queens, Agnes married Paul P. Gregory. He predeceased her on October 10, 2016. Agnes was a long-time resident of Wantagh, NY, and Rifton, NY.

She worked for the Wantagh School District for 30 years, was a volunteer at the Maritime Museum in Kingston and a member of the Eastern Star. She loved to sing and dance, and was never too old to play with her grandchildren. Together, Agnes and Paul raised their family – son, Paul (Kate) Gregory, of Arizona; daughter Janet (Jim) Vilardi, Pleasant Valley, and son Kenneth (Julie) Gregory, of Arizona.

Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren – Scott (Somer), Jan-Michael, and Bradley Gregory; Jennifer (Vinnie) Colucci; Christopher (Nicole) Vilardi; Nikole (Kevin) Lark; Kaitlyn (Chris) Arrowood; and nine great-grandchildren – Connor, Miranda and Hannah Gregory; Marisa, Michaela, Jase and Ariana Colucci; Ryleigh Gregory and Channing Lark. Agnes will be missed by many loving nieces and nephews. Agnes was predeceased by her two brothers, David and Eugene Hayter, and her sister, Leticia Schaefer.

An amazing Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma, her sweet smile, her laugh and her eternally positive and happy spirit will be forever with us. Memorial donations can be made in memory of Agnes Gregory to the Alzheimer’s Association – 2649 South Rd, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, or by phone at 845-471-2655.
