Obituary for Agnes Wilks WILKS (nee Spross), Agnes M. – 93, of Cape May and formerly Woodbury, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, April 5, 2018, with her family at her side. Agnes enjoyed a full life and will be long remembered and forever loved by her family for being a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She enjoyed a blessed marriage of 65 years to the late Edward “Big Ed” Wilks (2012) and is also predeceased by twelve of her sixteen siblings.
Agnes is dearly missed by her family which includes her three children, Agnes Karpo, Pat (and Joe) O’Boyle and Edward (and PattyAnn) Wilks; six grandchildren, Penny (and Rusty), Joey (and Christa), Lance (and Lorie), Meghan (and Patrick), Sarah and Rachael (and Rachel) and ten great grandchildren, Mary, Sarah, Teagan, Taylor, Mikala, Colt, JP, Caitie, Thomas and Ian, as well as four sisters, Margaret, Kate, Ronnie, Jane and dear sister-in-law, Rita Leggieri, and many loving nieces and nephews. Agnes’ pastime included working on her Word Seek Puzzles, Coloring, keeping her apartment spic and span and everything in its place, rooting for the Flyers, Eagles and Pittsburgh teams (except the Penguins! ) and people watching down the Mall.
Agnes was a dear and caring friend to Marge, Vi, Theresa and Jo. Agnes’ laugh was unmistakable and so infectious. She had a keen sense of humor and wit.
She always spoke what was on her mind, but underneath Agnes’ facade was a most loving, caring, thoughtful, appreciative and unselfish person. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday (April 12th) at 1:30pm in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington St., Cape May where there will be a viewing from 12:30pm until 1:20pm. Interment will follow in the Cape May Co. Veterans Cem.
