Albert J. Nappi, Jr., 39, of South Portland passed away unexpectedly from an undiagnosed medical condition on October 12, 2018. Albert, known to his friends and family as Al, Alby, or Lukie was born on June 5, 1979, to Albert Nappi, Sr. and Helen Frost in Portland, Maine. Al attended Portland schools and graduated from Deering High School in 1998.

He owned his own drywall business and worked for various companies throughout the years. Al was fearless from the time he could sit up. He skipped crawling and was walking at 9 months, riding a bike at 2 without training wheels, and the tricks he did on an ATV would terrify most.

Al excelled at anything and everything he ever tried to do. He was a gifted athlete and loved playing any and all sports. He was an avid golfer and had been golfing since he was old enough to hold a club.

His friends and family would all agree that he was the life of the party. Al had a quick sense of humor and was always cracking jokes. He could make the most mundane things exciting and fun, and was known for his crazy stunts.

Just like his dad, he had a nickname for everyone and every song he ever sang had an “Albert lyric” added to it. Above all else, Al was a family man. His greatest pride and accomplishments were his three children.

He was happiest when he was teaching them how to play sports or convincing them to participate in some of his crazy antics. Al was one of a kind. He is predeceased by his parents and his Aunt Chris and Uncle Jim Egan.

He is survived by his daughters Taylor and Concetta, his son Albert, III, and his longtime companion Judith Goodine. He is also survived by his sister Charlotte Clark, her husband Bob and their children Marissa, Courtney and Zachary. He will be missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends whose world is a little bit dimmer now that he is gone.

But, for those who knew him best, you know this is not a goodbye, just a talk to you in a bit. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 20, from 9-11 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Ave. , Portland.

Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland.
