Albert J. Pavlik Age 89, of Creighton, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 in Harmar Village Care Center. Born on April 28, 1929 in Tarentum, he was the son of John A. and Dorothy (Gretz) Pavlik. He was a 1947 graduate of Tarentum High School.

Al was a proud veteran of the Korean War, serving with the Army. He retired on July 30, 1994 after his 47 year work career as a bricklayer in the maintenance area at Allegheny Ludlum, Brackenridge. He was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Creighton, a life member of the American Legion Post 48, Natrona and VFW Post 894, Natrona Heights.

Al also enjoyed being a member of the Tarentum Sportman Club. Al was a huge Pirate and Steeler fan. He liked to fish, build model airplanes, collect Lionel trains, flower gardening, travel across the USA, and enjoyed family vacations to Ocean City, MD.

He and Millie loved working on their farm. He especially loved spending time with his family. Survivors include a son, David G. (Karen) Pavlik of Jefferson Hills and a daughter, Lori L. (Gary) Parrish of West Deer Township; four grandchildren, Carly (James) Brzoska, Jessica Parrish, Kristen Pavlik and John Pavlik; and his sister, Margaret Farineau of Fort Pierce, Florida.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mildred J. “Millie” (Bogan) Pavlik who passed on January 17, 2017. Relatives and friends will be received from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday in the Paul R. Ajak Funeral Home, Inc., 921 Freeport Road, Creighton where a blessing service will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Christian Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Holy Family R.C. Church, 787 Freeport Road, Creighton, officiating will be the Rev.

Fr. Thomas J. Gillespie, M.D. Burial with military honors will follow at Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
