Angela (Jakacki) Barker Kolek, 88, of Brackenridge, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Platinum Ridge, Brackenridge. She was born July 11, 1930, in Natrona Heights to the late Joseph and Celia Orkwiszewski Jakacki. Angela retired after 30 years of service from the former Liberty Mirror in Brackenridge.

She was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Parish in Natrona. Angela enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Corinne (Albert) Mozjesik, of Brackenridge and Arthur Barker, of Natrona; grandchildren, Bryan Mozjesik, Sarah Mozjesik (Branden Raby), Katie (Ryan) Coll and John (Stephanie) Barker; and by her great grandchildren, Mathias, Marek, Grayson, Declan, Laindre and Liliana.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Kolek in 2002; sister, Cornelia Pavlik; brother, Ted Jakacki; and by her daughter-in-law, Marilyn (Hudak) Barker. Angela’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Platinum Ridge and Heritage Hospice. There will be no public visitation.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 11 am in St. Ladislaus Church with the Rev. Aaron Kriss as celebrant. Entombment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
