Sirianni, 88, of Lansdale, PA and formerly of Toms River, NJ, was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. He was the beloved husband of the late Rosalie (Cricchio) Sirianni, who died July 4, 2015. Born February 3, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Francesco and Filomena (Cappello) Sirianni.
Al was a proud veteran of the US Army. Dad was employed with AT&T for 41 years, retiring in 1989. Rosalie and Al started their journey in life together at AT&T, where Mom was Dad’s secretary in 1960.
They were married in the summer of 1961. The real excitement of their journey began when the first of their four children arrived in May of 1964 and last of the four arrived in April of ’69. A few years after the birth of their last child, Al uprooted the family to move across the river to a small town in North Jersey.
Moving to the little town of Mendham was like moving to the Mid-west for Dad, having grown up in the concrete jungle of Brooklyn and in the shadows of Manhattan. Mendham provided Dad with many opportunities to enjoy watching his children grow up. He even at one time was brave enough to be the Scout Master of his son’s Boy Scout troop.
Dad put his family before everything else in his life. Dad taught us that there is much more to life than material possessions. A man’s success and wealth are not measured by his assets, but by the family and friends that surround him.
As far as his children are concerned, Dad was one of the richest men that they knew. After living in Mendham for fifteen years, Mom and Dad retired to Toms River, NJ, where he shared his love of music with his parish church St. Joseph’s as a cantor. After Mom passed away in July of 2015, Dad moved to Elm Terrace Gardens in Lansdale, PA.
To the credit of the staff of nurses and aides at Elm Terrace and his team of doctors and nurses at Lansdale Hospital, Dad was able to enjoy his remaining time with his family and friends along with make some new friends along the way in comfort. Dad’s greatest joy came from being with his family, most of all his grandchildren. They were the love of his life.
Survivors include his children, Maria Cummings (Hans) of Indianapolis, IN, Cecilia Sirianni of North Waterboro, ME, Christina Jurack (Paul) of Chicago, and Matthew Sirianni (Christina) of Souderton, PA; and six grandchildren, Samantha Vore (Andrew), Krysten, Justin, Cailyn, Isabella, and Francesco. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Christopher, and Joseph; three sisters, Mary Mistretta, Margaret Rondello, and Rita Faye; and two infant siblings.
