Alberta B. “Bert” Wittel, 84, of Mount Joy, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late James Wittel who passed away on July 16, 2009. Together they shared 45 years of marriage.

Born in Silica, WV, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Myrtle (Tenny) Booth. Bert was a member of Glossbrenner United Methodist Church. She enjoyed decorating for the holidays especially Christmas.

Most of all Bert enjoyed spending time with her seven grandsons. Bert will be lovingly remembered by her four daughters, Robin G. Turbedsky, wife of Mike of Mount Joy, Karen A. Nauman, wife of Wes of Mount Joy, Linda K. Kreider of Elizabethtown and Donna J. Grove, wife of Chad of Mount Joy; seven grandsons; two brothers, Albert Booth, husband of Anne of Charlottesville, VA and Lawrence Booth of Buckhannon, WV. She was preceded in death by a son in law, John Kreider; four brothers, Vernon, Lloyd, Harley and Ralph Booth; and a sister, Lucille Greer.

A funeral service honoring Bert’s life will be held at the Sheetz Funeral Home, Inc., 16 East Main Street, Mount Joy on Saturday, January 5, 2018 at 11 AM. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home before the service from 10 AM to 11 AM. Interment will follow at Camp Hill Cemetery, Mount Joy.
