He was born on August 7, 1960 to the late Armelio Marrero and Cruz Magdelena Tamayo in Holguin, Cuba. He is survived by his loving wife, Idia Serrano Alvarez; Son, Alberto R. Marrero Serrano; Daughter, Ismaray Marrero Serrano; grandchildren, Alberto Adrian Marrero Rodriguez, Cristian Renee Marrero Rodriguez, and Iliannet Garcia Marrero; and brothers, Arnaldo Marrero Tamayo and Armando Marrero Tamayo.
