Alejandro Castorena Lopez, 85, of Wilder, Idaho, passed away at his home surrounded by family on April 23, 2018. Alejandro was one of 10 children born in Aguascalientes, Mexico, immigrating to the U.S. at an early age. He met the love is his life, Caratina Puga in McAllen, TX and they married in 1959.

It was in McAllen that they started their family; 4 children, Alex Jr., Joe, Natiy and Daniel. In 1965 they moved their family from Texas to Wilder, Idaho were Alejandro worked for Kelly Farms. Some time later they moved to Orovada, Nevada working for the Hettrick Bros.

Farms and stayed there for several years. Moving back to Idaho in 1974, Alex worked for Lanny Kelly Farms until 1977 when he went to work for Simplot’s as a Hyster driver. Alex retired from Simplot after 23 years, in 2000.

Alex is best remembered for his love of life, always ready with a smile and his quick wit. He loved his family most of all and was cherished by all. He loved deer hunting in the fall and gardening, of which he was very good at.

Alejandro is preceded in death by his mother and father; his 9 siblings; his daughter, Natiy and son, Alex Jr. He’s survived by his wife, Caratina of 59 years; his sons, Joe and Daniel; grandson, Isaac and his wife Shelby and great-granddaughter, Payton and his grandsons, Fabian, Ricky and Willy along with many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 PM with Rosary Rectal at 5:00 PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. Condolences may be given at www.
