Obituary for Aleta J. Maschek Aleta Jonie Maschek, age 95, who was born in Mossyrock, Washington on May 22, 1922, went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2018. She was a loving wife, mother,grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was married to her late husband Matthew J. Maschek for over 50 years.

Jonie worked for NBC television and was still employed with The Observer News where she wrote a weekly column called Fish Tales. She also published several books on the history of the Ruskin and Apollo Beach areas. She was honored to be listed in the book The World Who’s Who Of Women.

She is survived by daughter Jackie Campbell; grandchildren James Durrence II, Julie Deriso, Reid Campbell; great-grandchildren Kayla Pettis, Kristin Durrance, Kelli Durrance, Ciera Hamblin; greatgreat- grandchildren Daren, Mia, Damen, Sawyer and Eli. Aleta Jonie Maschek lived a very fulfilling and successful life and was blessed with many friends and loved ones. She will be greatly missed.
