Obituary for Alfred Duplantis Sr. Alfred Joseph Duplantis Sr., 90, a lifelong resident of Chauvin, passed away on November 4, 2018. He worked in the Oilfield and his own trawl boat the “Capt. Tim”.

He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church – Chauvin from 9:30 am until 11:30 am. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church – Chauvin, at 11:30 am.

Burial will take place in the St. Joseph Cemetery – Chauvin. He is survived by his sons – Allen Duplantis(Suzie), Alfred J. Duplantis Jr.(Lori); daughters – Bobbie Jo Lirette(Doug), Shirley D. Dupre; 8 grandchildren; 2 grandson in laws; 3 granddaughter in laws; 11 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law – Robert “Bobby” Blanchard and wife Shira. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Shirley Mae Blanchard Duplantis; parents – Wilson “Papa Tim” Duplantis, Sr., Theolene Theriot Duplantis; brothers – Wilsey, Murphy and Wilson Duplantis Jr.; sisters – Gladys Picou, Roseline Pellegrin, Laurella LeCompte and Edna “Dee” Foret; son-in-law – Kent Dupre; brother-in-law – Ernest “Neg” Blanchard III.
