Alfred J. “Murph” Murphy August 27, 1931 – February 11, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences Alfred J. “Murph” Murphy, 87, of Fords, passed away on February 11, 2019, at J.F.K. Medical Center, Edison. Born in Fords to Walter and Agnes Murphy, he was a life-long resident. Murph was a Foreman for the Woodbridge Roads Department, retiring in 1998 after 43 years.

He was a Teamster Union Member and a member of the Holy Rosary Seniors. Murph served his country in the Army National Guard. He loved cars, especially working on them and country music.

Murph especially treasured his time spent with his family. Murph was predeceased by his wife Ruth who passed in (2012), and 12 late brother and sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Donna Totin and son-in-law Walt; his grandson, Brian Totin; his sister, Pat Murphy; his brother, William Murphy; his sister-in-law, Irene Murphy; his brother-in-law, Chester Greiner; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 7:30 PM on Friday, February 15, 2019, at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. , Fords. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 PM to 8 PM.

Cremation will be private. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, please visit www. stjude.org .
