Alice F. Self, 61, of Owensboro passed way Tuesday, January 22, 2019 under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born in Daviess County on June 6, 1957 to Harry E. Jones and Betty Jean Morris Jones. She was employed at Davco Rest Home where she worked as an Aide for 20 years.

She enjoyed playing Kentucky lottery and bingo, and going to the casino with her son, Michael. Along with her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Lee “Butch” Self, her brother, George Jones, and her sister, Barbara Hagan. Alice is survived by her children, Rachel Wootton, her son, Michael (Ron Harper) Self, her 5 grandchildren, Nakeita Wootton, Issaac Wootton, Tyler Johnson, Sierra Benito-Cruz, Alexis Benito-Cruz, 2 great- grandchildren, her siblings, Judy (Dale) Wedding and Martha Foster.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Hospice of Western Kentucky; 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, Kentucky 42301. The family of Alice Self would like to express their gratitude to the oncology staff at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, especially Melissa, and the staff at Hospice of Western Kentucky for their exceptional care.
